On Saturday, Serra was able to grind out a solid win over Hoover, taking the game 52-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Serra.
Serra was led to victory by Jadah Foster and Kaicia Snelson. Foster scored 14 points, while Snelson scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kaylah Holmes, who scored seven points.
Serra has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serra will take on Sotomayor at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Sotomayor's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Serra's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against Crawford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Crawford is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
