The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes will take on the Seymour Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Abingdon/Avon came out on top against Annawan-Wethersfield on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Tornadoes blew past the Titans 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kolbe Hightower, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Andrews, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Abingdon/Avon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Seymour came out on top against Beardstown on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Indians put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 8-2 victory.
Raulin Zehnle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Seymour let Mason Haden and Ransom Zehnle run wild. Haden got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two RBI, while Zehnle went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. Seymour is undefeated when Zehnle posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Maddox, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Abingdon/Avon's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Abingdon/Avon came out on top in a nail-biter against Seymour in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
