Even though the Maxwell Panthers have not done well against the Biggs Wolverines recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Maxwell snuck past Biggs with a 36-30 victory. This was payback for Maxwell, who suffered a 31-24 loss the last time these two teams met.
Emma Hendrix continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Teresita Salazar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Maxwell now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Biggs, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maxwell's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Los Molinos at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Biggs will take on Williams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
