The Albany Cougars will face off against the Moreau Catholic Mariners at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Albany is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Albany is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Jesse M. Bethel as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Dexter Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Akl, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Clear Lake typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Moreau Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Cardinals.
Markus Christy looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Elizarrey, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Moreau Catholic is undefeated when Elizarrey posts three or more RBI, but 8-12-1 otherwise. Isaiah Clendinen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
The win got Moreau Catholic back to even at 12-12-1. As for Albany, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Albany has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Moreau Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits.
