MaxPreps is putting the spotlight on 10 of the most incredible high school baseball fields in the country. As seen in the video above, the tour includes Fromhold Field in San Pedro, Calif., home of
Mary Star of the Sea. The field is right on the coast with home runs finding a place in the Pacific Ocean.
In Oklahoma, Stigall Field, home of the
Owasso Rams, has gone through a recent facelift with new turf, a higher fence and a new scoreboard.
In the Northwest, Olympic Stadium in
Hoquiam (Wash.) takes fans back in time to the days of the Pacific Coast League in the 1940s before Major League Baseball had made its way to the West Coast. Built in 1938, the stadium still has the unique L-shaped wooden bleachers from when it opened nearly 80 years ago.
In the South,
Germantown (Madison, Miss.) has been recognized by the National Baseball Coaches Association as the field of the year. Carlo Crispino Stadium in
Towson (Md.) has won the NBCA honor twice. Other fields on the list include Hoyt S. Keeter Stadium in
Shelby (N.C.) and Viking Field at
Loudoun Valley (Purcellville, Va.).
