The Xavier Prep Saints stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Palm Springs 55-24 at home. With Xavier Prep ahead 35-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Xavier Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Thomsen out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomsen has scored all season. Grace Thomsen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Aja Walker and Shayla Bates certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Walker scored seven points along with three steals, while Bates scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Bates has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Xavier Prep has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Palm Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Xavier Prep will head out on the road to challenge La Quinta at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Quinta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 711th, while Xavier Prep is ranked 232nd). As for Palm Springs, they will be playing at home against Entrepreneur at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Entrepreneur comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
