Immanuel and Reedley are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2023, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out to take on the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Immanuel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wasco, sneaking past 8-7. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Julian Ornelas made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Immanuel is 8-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Ornelas was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Ornelas wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Logan Osborne, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Osborne a new career-high. Another was Jax Davidson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Reedley got themselves on the board against Golden West on Tuesday, but Golden West never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trailblazers 1-0. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by just one run.
Not much got past Austin Rodriguez, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Golden West off the board. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Immanuel's record now sits at 17-12. As for Reedley, their record is now 18-11.
Immanuel might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Reedley in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
