While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 524th, while the Cougars are ranked 201st).
 Pioneer now  has a losing record at 6-7. As for Gunderson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
 Gunderson beat Pioneer 35-22  in their previous meeting  back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gunderson since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
