It was a good run, but the Kern Valley Broncs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Desert. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two points.
Kern Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayda Bushling, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bushling has scored all season. Jessie Bunting was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Destiny Hart continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Desert, dropping a triple-double on 27 points, 23 rebounds, and 13 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hart has scored at least a third of Desert's points. Another player making a difference was Kalista Williams, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Desert, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will face off against the Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Desert, they will head out on the road to take on the Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
