Tri-Valley and Weatherly are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on Weatherly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Tri-Valley didn't have too much trouble with Shenandoah Valley at home as they won 35-19. That looming 35-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Tri-Valley yet this season.
Tri-Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Header led the charge by scoring nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avery Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Weatherly's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight defeat. They were beaten by Marian Catholic 54-9. While losing is never fun, Weatherly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Marian Catholic is ranked 137th).
Tri-Valley's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-19. As for Weatherly, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Everything came up roses for Tri-Valley against Weatherly in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 54-26 win. Does Tri-Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weatherly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
