Beatrice waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged out the Park Hill Trojans 7-5. Seven seems to be a good number for the Orangemen as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Jada Berke made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Callie Schwisow was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Brooke Gleason was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Beatrice's win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Coming up, Beatrice will take on Rock Bridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Park Hill, they will host Staley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
