Softball Recap: Fort Lupton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Fort Lupton had lost six straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Middle Park Panthers with a sharp 25-9 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bluedevils considering their two-run performance the game before.

As for Middle Park, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked their highest-scoring match to date.

For Middle Park's part, Raquel Ruiz stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Sydney Solomon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fort Lupton will face off against rival Arvada at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Middle Park is set to challenge their familiar foe Platte Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
