Softball Recap: Chadron's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gering, Chadron was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Alliance Bulldogs with a sharp 15-2 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.

Cali Hendrickson was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Hendrickson was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addisyn Gruver, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Alex Rassmusen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Chadron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the victory, Chadron broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6. As for Alliance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Chadron has already played their next game, a 6-3 loss against Scottsbluff on the 13th. As for Alliance, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Gering on the 13th.
