Creighton is 2-7 against the Eagles since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Creighton Bulldogs will be playing at home against the O'Neill Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, Creighton was not quite the Indians' equal in the second half on Tuesday. Creighton fell 51-38 to the Indians.
Meanwhile, O'Neill came up short against the Knights on Thursday and fell 59-49. O'Neill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, O'Neill saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Hilker scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hilker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bergyn Classen, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Creighton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for O'Neill, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Creighton might still be hurting after the 52-27 loss they got from the Eagles when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Creighton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
