The Helix Highlanders can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Academy of Our Lady of Peace 60-25 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Helix has posted since December 21, 2023.
Helix's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Valerie Marquez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 24 rebounds. Jordan Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Helix has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Helix will look to defend their home court on Friday against Granite Hills at 5:30 p.m. Granite Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 684th, while Helix is ranked 318th). As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
