Juju Watkins dropped 60 points Tuesday as No. 1
Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) beat Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) 88-39, shattering the school record she set five days earlier.
The USC commit led the No. 1 Trailblazers to the win while also grabbing 21 rebounds and recording five steals.
On Jan. 26, Watkins scored a then-school record of 45 in a 93-49 victory over Alemany.
Watkins is averaging close to 30 points per game with dominating performances against some of the nation's best teams and players.
She opened the season with 30 against No. 11 Duncanville (Texas) and followed with 24 against Parkway (Bossier City, La.) and MaxPreps All-American Mikaylah Williams. In January, the senior phenom put 30 on No. 5 La Jolla Country Day at the Chosen 1s showcase and 29 on No. 2 Sidwell Friends (Washington, D.C.) at the Spalding Hoophall Classic.
According to Cal-Hi Sports, 29 players have scored at least 60 in California history. The state record is 105 by Cheryl Miller in 1982 with the next highest being Lisa Leslie's 101 in one half in 1990.
The 6-foot standout recently signed an NIL deal with Nike and was perhaps the most-widely
sought-after recruit in the country after leading the Trailblazers to a
CIF Open Division title last season. She chose USC in order to build the program and stay close to home as she grew up in nearby Watts.
Twenty-nine players have scored at least 60 in California history, according to
Cal-Hi Sports. The state record is 105 by Cheryl Miller in 1982 with the
next highest being Lisa Leslie's 101 in one half in 1990.
