ALFONSO MURILLO has been named player of the year. "Congratulations to Senior Alfonso Murillo for earning the MaxPreps 2019 Player of the Year for the Miyamura Patriots varsity team!! Murillo logged a total of 11 goals in addition to a goal off a Penalty Kick during the 2019 season. Murillo chalked up 2 hat tricks in back-to-back games with his first coming at the Aztec Tournament against Grants, and the next when the Patriots hosted Grants. Based on his performance in both Grants matches, Murillo was selected as the Player of the Game for both games. In addition to his 12 goals, Murillo also recorded 2 assists. Overall, Murillo had 50% of his shots on goal and he scored on 50% of his shots on goal. Murillo ended his Miyamura career with 2 goals in his final game as the Patriots defeated the Gallup Bengals by a 4-1 score. Although Murillo's 5 year career with the Miyamura Patriots has come to an end, the team wishes him the best in all his endeavors in the future!!"
