Clayton Wahlstrom has been named player of the year. "Clayton was the best overall player on both sides of the ball in 2013. Somewhat quiet in relation to his personal stats, he still displayed some lethal numbers. He rushed for nearly 200 yards on 44 carries, which may not seem a lot as compared to others. However, his carries averaged 4.5 yards. In passing, he caught 37 balls for 421 yards; he was second in passing with less than 100 yards behind receiver Joel Thomsen. His longest reception was 45 yards. It is important to note that over 70 percent of his passes were caught inside the hashes. This demonstrates superior concentration ... knowing that you are going to get hit hard by a safety or inside backer. Nonetheless, Clayton caught a number of passes that moved the chains and set up the offense for critical gains in yardage. On defense, he was third in tackles with 68 and had two interceptions for 25 yards. He also caused one fumble and had three tackles for losses. Clayton will certainly be missed next season."
