Ridge Whitney has been named player of the year. "Ridge is our CO-MVP. Ridge has been a two year starter for Fremont. His accomplishments are recognized in all phases of the game. He led the team in offense as a receiver and was Region 1's best kick return specialist. Ridge was selected 1st Team all Region 1. Ridge had over 1,000 all purpose yards this season demonstrating his versatility as a football player. Defensively, Ridge also contributed greatly at the cornerback position as a starter. Ridge has demonstrated an ability to prepare and be prepared for game time. He has been one of the great leaders on the Fremont football team this season and was chosen as a team captain. His leadership inspired many to work harder and play with grit. Ridge will always give his all and is a tremendous competitor. He does not back down from a challenge or anyone. "
