Nevada High School Basketball - Yerington thwarts Pershing County

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Yerington Lions (Yerington, NV) and the visiting Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV), observed Yerington's basketball team knock off Pershing County by a score of 60-52.

The Lions (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against West Wendover (West Wendover, NV). The Wolverines come into the 2A Northern challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, West Wendover prevailed over Silver Stage (Silver Springs, NV), 71-30, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the North Tahoe Lakers (Tahoe City, CA) in a 2A Northern challenge, on Saturday, January 4. Pershing County will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Lakers come into the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 49-39 league loss to Yerington (Yerington, NV).
