The Piedmont Panthers basketball team scored 58 points and held the host Monroe Redhawks to 54 in the Panthers league triumph on Friday.

The Panthers now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forest Hills for a 2A/3A Rocky River contest on Tuesday, January 9. Piedmont will meet a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 77-58 league loss to Parkwood (Monroe, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 7-5.

The Redhawks (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Colts enter the 2A/3A Rocky River contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, West Stanly was nudged by Parkwood (Monroe, NC), 73-67, in a league contest.
