In Friday's non-league match, the visiting McCool Junction Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 46-43 triumph over the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Friend Bulldogs (Friend, NE) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 7. McCool Junction will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 6-3 record after their 60-57 non-league loss to Southern (Wymore, NE).
