The McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) basketball knocked off the host Deshler Dragons (Deshler, NE), 52-39 in Friday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (8-4) will now prepare for their test against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE). The Eagles go into the D1 District 3 test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley notched a victory over Diller-Odell (Odell, NE), 44-37, in a non-league test.

The Dragons now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Heartland for a non-league test on Saturday, January 14. Deshler will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 55-32 non-league loss to Fillmore Central (Geneva, NE). The Huskies record now stands at 5-6.
