Illinois High School Basketball - Quincy nips Rock Island

January 6, 2023: Quincy, IL 62301

Quincy Blue Devils (Quincy, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Rock Island Rocks (Rock Island, IL), 61-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Quincy upgrades its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Springfield (Springfield, IL) to play the Senators in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Senators come into the bout with a record of 6-11. Springfield lost 53-37 in their recent league bout against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL)

Next up, the Rocks play the Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) in a Western Big 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Rock Island will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Silver Streaks come into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 56-23 league win over Alleman (Rock Island, IL).
