Monroe Central Golden Bears (Parker City, IN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Winchester Community Golden Falcons (Winchester, IN), 50-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Monroe Central upgrades its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Golden Bears host Shenandoah (Middletown, IN) to play the Raiders in a Mid-Eastern bout on Friday, January 13. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 4-6.

Next up, the Golden Falcons play the Hagerstown Tigers (Hagerstown, IN) in a Tri-Eastern bout, on Friday, January 13. Winchester Community will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 56-35 non-league loss to Northeastern (Fountain City, IN).
