The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC) and the visiting Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC), observed Ashbrook's basketball team knock off Crest by a score of 67-55.

The Greenwave (12-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Forestview (Gastonia, NC). The Jaguars come into the 3A Big South challenge with a 6-7 record.

In their next game, the Chargers encounter the Stuart W. Cramer Storm (Belmont, NC) in a 3A Big South challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Crest will attempt to improve on its 9-1 season record. The Storm come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 62-51 league loss to South Point (Belmont, NC).
