The North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 66-56 in Wednesday's league test.

The Vikings (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles go into the 2A Foothills test with a 10-5 record. In their last test, Wilkes Central went down by East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC), 60-58, in a league test.

The Blackhawks now own a 3-10 record. They play next when they host North Surry for a 2A Foothills test on Friday, January 12. West Wilkes will encounter a Greyhounds squad coming off a 88-54 league win over Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Greyhounds record now stands at 9-4.
