Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 70-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Wilkes Central upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Eagles travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Hibriten won 61-41 in their recent non-league bout against Chase (Forest City, NC)
