Georgia High School Basketball - Valwood can't hold off Deerfield-Windsor
January 10, 2025: Valdosta, GA 31632 Deerfield-Windsor Knights (Albany, GA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA), 51-49 in a league match.
With the victory, Deerfield-Windsor upgrades its record to 12-1 on the year. The Knights host Southland Academy (Americus, GA) to face the Raiders in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 14. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 10-6. Southland Academy won 44-43 in their recent league match against Sherwood Christian Academy (Albany, GA)
The Valiants now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tiftarea Academy for a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 match on Tuesday, January 14. Valwood will face a Panthers squad coming off a 75-24 league loss to Brookwood (Thomasville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 8-2.
