The Monticello Sages basketball team scored 54 points and limited the host Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts to 45 in the Sages league triumph on Friday.

The Sages now have a 7-7 record. They play next when they travel to Seneca for a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. Monticello will confront a Fighting Irish team coming off a 48-34 non-league win over Herscher (Herscher, IL). The Fighting Irish record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, Illinois Valley Central falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Grey ghosts host Farmington (Farmington, IL) to confront the Farmers in a non-league game on Saturday, January 11.
