The Alleghany Trojans basketball team (Sparta, NC), was routed 80-40 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC)

The Vikings now sport a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mount Airy for a 1A Northwest battle on Friday, January 12. North Stokes will battle a Granite Bears team coming off a 60-45 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 4-5.

The Trojans (4-9) will now prepare for their battle against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC). The Cardinals come into the 1A Northwest battle with a 6-6 record. In their last battle, East Wilkes was routed by South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC), 68-38, in a league battle.
