Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area overwhelms Rochester

January 13, 2023: New Castle, PA 16101

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Rochester Rams (Rochester, PA), saw Union Area's basketball squad wallop Rochester by a tally of 69-44.

With the victory, Union Area improves its record to 11-0 on the campaign. The Scotties travel to Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, PA) to confront the in a non-league challenge on Sunday, January 15. The come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. Kennedy Catholic lost 61-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Chaney (Youngstown, OH)

Next up, the Rams confront the Western Beaver Golden Beavers (Industry, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Rochester will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Golden Beavers come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 72-36 league win over Cornell (Coraopolis, PA).
