North Carolina High School Basketball - Chase topped by Polk County
January 16, 2024: Columbus, NC 28722 The Polk County Wolverines basketball team scored 83 points and restricted the visiting Chase Trojans to 67 in the Wolverines league victory on Tuesday.
The Wolverines now sport a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Rutherford for a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills contest on Friday, January 19. Polk County will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 65-52 league win over R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-8.
The Trojans (0-14) will now prepare for their contest against Patton (Morganton, NC). The Panthers come into the 1A/2A Mountain Foothills contest with a 14-2 record. In their last contest, Patton prevailed over R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 59-50, in a league contest.
