The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Calumet New Tech Warriors (Gary, IN) and the visiting Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles (Lake Station, IN), observed Calumet New Tech's basketball team overcome Lake Station Edison by a score of 83-75.

The Warriors (6-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN). The Bearcats come into the Greater South Shore challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Wheeler defeated DeMotte Christian (DeMotte, IN), 41-38, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Fighting Eagles battle the Hebron Hawks (Hebron, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Lake Station Edison will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 69-63 league win over Westville (Westville, IN).
