The Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) basketball felled the visiting Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX), 44-29 in Friday's league test.

The Mustangs (24-9) will now prepare for their test against Roma (Roma, TX). The Gladiators go into the 5A Region IV District 30 test with a 22-10 record. In their last test, Roma notched a victory over Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX), 60-14, in a league test.
