The East Carteret Mariners basketball team scored 80 points and held the visiting Lejeune Devil Pups to 54 in the Mariners league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mariners now sport a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northside - Pinetown for a 1A/2A Coastal Plains contest on Friday, January 26. East Carteret will battle a Panthers team coming off a 78-65 league win over Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 14-5.

The Devil Pups (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Southside (Chocowinity, NC). The Seahawks enter the 1A/2A Coastal Plains contest with a 3-14 record. In their last contest, Southside was routed by Jones (Trenton, NC), 42-34, in a league contest.
