The Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), 70-67 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tigers (13-1) will now prepare for their test against Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA). The Warriors go into the Southeastern test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, Nansemond River got by Indian River (Chesapeake, VA), 59-50, in a league test.

The Bruins now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Deep Creek for a Southeastern test on Friday, January 26. Western Branch will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 80-58 non-league loss to Manor (Portsmouth, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 5-8.
