The Columbus Sailors basketball squad (Waterloo, IA), was crushed 79-42 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA)

With the victory, Grundy Center advances its record to 14-0 on the year. The Spartans host East Marshall (Le Grand, IA) to meet the Mustangs in a North Iowa Cedar - West battle on Tuesday, January 28. The Mustangs enter the battle with a record of 7-8. East Marshall won 76-58 in their recent non-league battle against Hudson (Hudson, IA)

The Sailors now own a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mediapolis for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 25. Columbus will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 56-53 league loss to Louisa-Muscatine (Letts, IA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-6.
