January 25, 2024: Owings, MD 20736 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD) and the host Northern Patriots (Owings, MD), saw Great Mills's basketball squad hold off Northern by a tally of 53-49.
With the victory, Great Mills improves its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Hornets host Calvert (Prince Frederick, MD) to confront the Cavaliers in a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, January 26. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 2-13. Calvert lost 67-51 in their recent league challenge against Northern (Owings, MD)
Next up, the Patriots confront the La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD) in a Southern Maryland challenge, on Friday, January 26. Northern will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 57-44 league loss to North Point (Waldorf, MD).
