Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC), 56-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Weldon upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC) to play the Trojans in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 11-5.

Next up, the Eagles play the North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Warren County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 83-77 league loss to Wilson Prep (Wilson, NC).
