North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC), 65-52 in a league bout.

With the win, North Edgecombe upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Warriors travel to Wilson Prep (Wilson, NC) to play the Tigers in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, December 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Wilson Prep won 64-42 in their recent non-league bout against Catholic (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Chargers play the Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout, on Friday, December 8. Weldon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 56-43 league loss to KIPP Pride (Gaston, NC).
