December 28, 2023: Gaston, NC 27832 The Weldon Chargers basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Northampton County Jaguars to 60 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Chargers now sport a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arundel for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Weldon will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 79-54 non-league win over Roanoke Rapids (Roanoke Rapids, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-0.
The Jaguars (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Roanoke Rapids (Roanoke Rapids, NC). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Roanoke Rapids was nudged by Arundel (Gambrills, MD), 79-54, in a non-league contest.
