Mississippi High School Basketball - Meridian nips Brandon

January 27, 2023: Brandon, MS 39042

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) and the host Brandon Bulldogs (Brandon, MS), saw Meridian's basketball squad hold off Brandon by a tally of 59-53.

With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Laurel (Laurel, MS) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Golden Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 3-5.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS) in a 6A Region 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Brandon will attempt to improve on its 18-7 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 79-58 league loss to Brandon (Brandon, MS).
