Virginia High School Basketball - Deep Creek holds off Hickory
January 27, 2023: Chesapeake, VA 23323 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA), saw Deep Creek's basketball squad hold off Hickory by a tally of 71-67.
With the victory, Deep Creek improves its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Hampton (Hampton, VA) to confront the Crabbers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Crabbers come into the challenge with a record of 8-7. Hampton won 73-33 in their recent league challenge against Warwick (Newport News, VA)
Next up, the Hawks confront the Ocean Lakes Dolphins (Virginia Beach, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 30. Hickory will attempt to improve on its 0-14 season record. The Dolphins come into the challenge with a 0-19 record after their 73-26 league loss to Cox (Virginia Beach, VA).
