Virginia High School Basketball - Middlesex holds off Mathews

In Tuesday's league contest, the host Middlesex Chargers basketball team scored a close 46-43 triumph over the Mathews Blue Devils.

The Chargers (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Panthers go into the Tidewater contest with a 3-11 record. In their last contest, Charles City was tipped by Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA), 74-21, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Blue Devils confront the Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines (Chester, VA) in a Tidewater contest, on Thursday, January 30. Mathews will attempt to better on its 11-6 season record. The Wolverines go into the contest with a 1-11 record after their 61-56 league loss to West Point (West Point, VA).
