Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host West Shamokin Wolves (Rural Valley, PA), 45-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Portage upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Northern Cambria (Northern Cambria, PA) to play the Colts in a Heritage bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Colts come into the bout with a record of 13-5. Northern Cambria won 68-37 in their recent non-league bout against Ferndale (Johnstown, PA)

Next up, the Wolves play the Purchase Line Red Dragons (Commodore, PA) in a Heritage bout, on Tuesday, January 30. West Shamokin will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Red Dragons come into the bout with a 1-19 record after their 83-32 league loss to Conemaugh Township (Davidsville, PA).
