In Thursday's league match, the visiting Portage Mustangs basketball team scored a good 59-50 triumph over the United Lions.

In their next game, the Mustangs meet the Windber Ramblers (Windber, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 2. Portage will attempt to move on its 12-7 season record. The Ramblers enter the match with a 11-5 record after their 68-39 non-league win over Moshannon Valley (Houtzdale, PA).

With the defeat, United moves to 10-10 on the year. The Lions travel to Punxsutawney (Punxsutawney, PA) to meet the Chucks in a non-league match on Monday, February 12. The Chucks enter the match with a record of 6-5.
