The Raton Tigers (Raton, NM) basketball edged the visiting Clayton Yellowjackets (Clayton, NM), 64-61 in Thursday's league bout.

The Tigers now possess a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Tucumcari for a 2A District 6 bout on Saturday, February 1. Raton will play a Rattlers team coming off a 72-63 league win over Estancia (Estancia, NM). The Rattlers record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Clayton falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Pecos (Pecos, NM) to play the Panthers in a 2A District 6 bout on Saturday, February 1. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-9. Pecos lost 75-72 in their recent league bout against Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, NM)
