New Mexico High School Basketball - Clayton bested by Pecos
February 1, 2025: Clayton, NM 88415 Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Clayton Yellowjackets (Clayton, NM), 54-41 in a league match.
With the victory, Pecos advances its record to 11-9 on the year. The Panthers host Estancia (Estancia, NM) to meet the Bears in a 2A District 6 match on Thursday, February 6. The Bears come into the test with a record of 5-15. Estancia lost 86-38 in their recent league test against Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, NM)
The Yellowjackets (10-9) will now prepare for their test against Tucumcari (Tucumcari, NM). The Rattlers come into the 2A District 6 test with a 6-13 record. In their last test, Tucumcari was knocked off by Raton (Raton, NM), 72-69, in a league test.
