Minnesota High School Basketball - Byron overwhelms Pine Island
January 31, 2024: Byron, MN 55920 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Byron Bears (Byron, MN) and the visiting Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN), saw Byron's basketball squad wallop Pine Island by a tally of 78-46.
With the victory, Byron improves its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Zumbrota, MN) to play the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 2. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 12-8. Zumbrota-Mazeppa lost 72-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Stewartville (Stewartville, MN)
Next up, the Panthers play the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs (Elgin, MN) in a AA Section 1 challenge, on Monday, February 5. Pine Island will attempt to improve on its 8-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 6-16 record after their 60-46 non-league loss to Cristo Rey Jesuit (Minneapolis, MN).
